At our first assembly of the year, children from year 1 to year 6 created a recipe for success. We thought about what we needed to have in our school cake to ensure success and happiness throughout the year. The children's wonderful imaginations shone through and they came up with a real recipe for success!
Ben Wilson - Chewing Gum Man!

Year 4's Art topic this half term is called "Which local artist lives near here?" and OLM are lucky enough to have one living just up the road- Ben Wilson Chewing Gum Man. Ben visited Year 4 this week and showed us all his work. He is pro-environment and helps make streets look colourful by painting patterns and pictures over old, flattened chewing gum on the pavements which are meaningful to the members of public in Muswell Hill. Year 4 walked around Muswell Hill looking at all his work and he even painted one for OLM situated near Planet Organic. Back at school, the children got to create their own chewing gum designs! What a fun day!
Festival of Football at THFC

Some of our Year 2 boys had the opportunity to attend a “Football Festival” at Tottenham Hotspur FC first team training ground today. They had a fantastic day and learned some new football skills while having lots of fun! Thank you to Jake, Danny and all the team that have worked with our Y2 children this year!
Primary Stars Day!

Today KS2 enjoyed a Primary Stars Day. Danny, and his team of coaches from Tottenham Hotspurs kicked off the day with an assembly where they shared the Premier League Primary Stars values.
- Be ambitious – work hard and never give up on their goals.
- Be inspiring – set a great example to others.
- Be connected –work well with others and in a team.
- Be fair – treat people equally and think of others.
Each class in KS2 enjoyed 2 lessons, "Roving Reporters" and "Sky Ocean Rescue" throughout the day. To finish off, the coaches met everyone for a final assembly and presented awards to some star pupils!

Congratulations to the blue team who are the winners of the house points competition this year. They enjoyed an afternoon of ice-cream, playground games and had the privilege of wearing their own clothes on Wednesday. Well done Blue team!

Judaism week

This week in school all children are learning about Judaism as part of our other faiths topic. On Monday Year 2 and Year 6 went to visit the local Synagogue and learn more about the Jewish faith and their place of worship.
On Tuesday we were very lucky to welcome back Ruth Jampel from 'Judaism for Schools' who delivered an assembly to the whole school and taught us more about the Jewish religion. Year 4 then took part in a Judaism workshop where they learnt more about the Torah, Hebrew writing and even got to try on prayer shawls and kippah's.
We have been very impressed with all the children this week who have shown a great knowledge and respect of the Jewish faith.

Haringey Winner!

It was with great delight that one of our past pupils returned to OLM to receive a new bike! She successfully saw off competition from all other year 6 students in Haringey last year to win the competition which asked year 6 students to plan routes and timings to travel around London.
