At our first assembly of the year, children from year 1 to year 6 created a recipe for success. We thought about what we needed to have in our school cake to ensure success and happiness throughout the year. The children's wonderful imaginations shone through and they came up with a real recipe for success!
Ben Wilson - Chewing Gum Man!

Year 4's Art topic this half term is called "Which local artist lives near here?" and OLM are lucky enough to have one living just up the road- Ben Wilson Chewing Gum Man. Ben visited Year 4 this week and showed us all his work. He is pro-environment and helps make streets look colourful by painting patterns and pictures over old, flattened chewing gum on the pavements which are meaningful to the members of public in Muswell Hill. Year 4 walked around Muswell Hill looking at all his work and he even painted one for OLM situated near Planet Organic. Back at school, the children got to create their own chewing gum designs! What a fun day!
Festival of Football at THFC

Some of our Year 2 boys had the opportunity to attend a “Football Festival” at Tottenham Hotspur FC first team training ground today. They had a fantastic day and learned some new football skills while having lots of fun! Thank you to Jake, Danny and all the team that have worked with our Y2 children this year!
Primary Stars Day!

Today KS2 enjoyed a Primary Stars Day. Danny, and his team of coaches from Tottenham Hotspurs kicked off the day with an assembly where they shared the Premier League Primary Stars values.
- Be ambitious – work hard and never give up on their goals.
- Be inspiring – set a great example to others.
- Be connected –work well with others and in a team.
- Be fair – treat people equally and think of others.
Each class in KS2 enjoyed 2 lessons, "Roving Reporters" and "Sky Ocean Rescue" throughout the day. To finish off, the coaches met everyone for a final assembly and presented awards to some star pupils!

Congratulations to the GREEN team who were the overall winners at Sports Day this year. Well done!
Blue team are the winners!
Congratulations to the blue team who are the winners of the house points competition this year. They enjoyed an afternoon of ice-cream, playground games and had the privilege of wearing their own clothes on Wednesday. Well done Blue team!

Y3 Roman Day

Last Thursday OLM was invaded by the Romans as 60 year 3 children (and teachers!) came to school dressed as Romans and continued their learning in this topic through workshops and drama. There was a gladiator fight, a quiz and lots of investigating using Roman Numerals. Year 3 had a fantastic day and by 3.20pm there were lots of tired, smiling Roman soldiers leaving school!
Charity Day.

On Friday 12th February our Team Captains and Vice Captains held their charity fundraising day. Children and staff came to school dressed in pyjamas and with crazy hair! Fun activities included an art competition, a class quiz and the afternoon was spent in the hall at the staff talent show. We were all amazed by the hidden talents of some staff! Well done Mr Maloney for winning with his rendition of “Reach for the Stars!”

Spirituality Week.

This week has been a special week at OLM. Throughout the week we have been exploring spirituality in a variety of ways.On Monday and Tuesday classes took turns to visit the prayer stations that were set up in the hall and spent time reflecting at each one. All children in the school have listened to the story ‘Have you filled a bucket today?’ which focuses on the positive things we can do to express kindness, appreciation and love to others by filling the invisible buckets that we all carry around with us. Children also listed to the song ‘Man in the Mirror’ and thought about the things that they could do to make a change in the world. These thoughts have been shared through their art work. It has been a very thoughtful and reflective week for us all which has created a lovely atmosphere around the school. A very big thank you to MissHaugh for all her work to prepare for this week.
Gymnastics

Well done to the year 3 and 4 children who represented OLM at gymnastics yesterday. Everyone was very impressed with your amazing skills and how you worked as a team. Thank you to Sean and Mr Maloney for attending the event with you. We look forward to hearing how the year 5 children get on at their gymnastics competition today.
