At our first assembly of the year, children from year 1 to year 6 created a recipe for success. We thought about what we needed to have in our school cake to ensure success and happiness throughout the year. The children's wonderful imaginations shone through and they came up with a real recipe for success!
Ben Wilson - Chewing Gum Man!

Year 4's Art topic this half term is called "Which local artist lives near here?" and OLM are lucky enough to have one living just up the road- Ben Wilson Chewing Gum Man. Ben visited Year 4 this week and showed us all his work. He is pro-environment and helps make streets look colourful by painting patterns and pictures over old, flattened chewing gum on the pavements which are meaningful to the members of public in Muswell Hill. Year 4 walked around Muswell Hill looking at all his work and he even painted one for OLM situated near Planet Organic. Back at school, the children got to create their own chewing gum designs! What a fun day!
Festival of Football at THFC

Some of our Year 2 boys had the opportunity to attend a “Football Festival” at Tottenham Hotspur FC first team training ground today. They had a fantastic day and learned some new football skills while having lots of fun! Thank you to Jake, Danny and all the team that have worked with our Y2 children this year!
Primary Stars Day!

Today KS2 enjoyed a Primary Stars Day. Danny, and his team of coaches from Tottenham Hotspurs kicked off the day with an assembly where they shared the Premier League Primary Stars values.
- Be ambitious – work hard and never give up on their goals.
- Be inspiring – set a great example to others.
- Be connected –work well with others and in a team.
- Be fair – treat people equally and think of others.
Each class in KS2 enjoyed 2 lessons, "Roving Reporters" and "Sky Ocean Rescue" throughout the day. To finish off, the coaches met everyone for a final assembly and presented awards to some star pupils!

Congratulations to the GREEN team who were the overall winners at Sports Day this year. Well done!
Blue team are the winners!
Congratulations to the blue team who are the winners of the house points competition this year. They enjoyed an afternoon of ice-cream, playground games and had the privilege of wearing their own clothes on Wednesday. Well done Blue team!

Health Week

Thank you to all our parents who visited school this week to speak to the children about their jobs and how important it is to be healthy. Our chef Nadya also took some time out of her busy schedule to speak to KS2 children at assembly about healthy foods and healthy choices.

Adam from Step teachers visited school today and presented our school council with a cheque for £100. This money will be used to buy a new rug to brighten up the library. A very big thank you to Adam and everyone at Step Teachers for their generosity.

Health week - can you help?

From January 23rd to 27th OLM will celebrate a Health week. The children will be taking part in lessons and workshops about how to stay healthy and the importance of exercise and fitness.
If you work in the health sector and would be willing to come into school and talk to your child’s class/year group we would love to hear from you. Maybe you could share what a typical day in your job is like, how you ended up choosing your career/working in the health sector and share some tips on healthy lifestyles. If you are feeling very brave and you are a fitness expert maybe you could engage the children in a workout!

Jermaine Jenas visits OLM!

This morning at assembly the children were very excited to welcome Jermaine Jenas to school. He spoke about his footballing career and told the children how being on time for training, always trying his best and doing more than the expected helped him to achieve his dream. Through his work with the Aquinas Foundation Jermaine launched our “Get to school on time” campaign which will see children and classes who are on time everyday rewarded - the class with the best punctuality and the top three children with the best punctuality will receive very special prizes in July.
