At our first assembly of the year, children from year 1 to year 6 created a recipe for success. We thought about what we needed to have in our school cake to ensure success and happiness throughout the year. The children's wonderful imaginations shone through and they came up with a real recipe for success!
Ben Wilson - Chewing Gum Man!

Year 4's Art topic this half term is called "Which local artist lives near here?" and OLM are lucky enough to have one living just up the road- Ben Wilson Chewing Gum Man. Ben visited Year 4 this week and showed us all his work. He is pro-environment and helps make streets look colourful by painting patterns and pictures over old, flattened chewing gum on the pavements which are meaningful to the members of public in Muswell Hill. Year 4 walked around Muswell Hill looking at all his work and he even painted one for OLM situated near Planet Organic. Back at school, the children got to create their own chewing gum designs! What a fun day!
Festival of Football at THFC

Some of our Year 2 boys had the opportunity to attend a “Football Festival” at Tottenham Hotspur FC first team training ground today. They had a fantastic day and learned some new football skills while having lots of fun! Thank you to Jake, Danny and all the team that have worked with our Y2 children this year!
Primary Stars Day!

Today KS2 enjoyed a Primary Stars Day. Danny, and his team of coaches from Tottenham Hotspurs kicked off the day with an assembly where they shared the Premier League Primary Stars values.
- Be ambitious – work hard and never give up on their goals.
- Be inspiring – set a great example to others.
- Be connected –work well with others and in a team.
- Be fair – treat people equally and think of others.
Each class in KS2 enjoyed 2 lessons, "Roving Reporters" and "Sky Ocean Rescue" throughout the day. To finish off, the coaches met everyone for a final assembly and presented awards to some star pupils!

Congratulations to the GREEN team who were the overall winners at Sports Day this year. Well done!
Blue team are the winners!
Congratulations to the blue team who are the winners of the house points competition this year. They enjoyed an afternoon of ice-cream, playground games and had the privilege of wearing their own clothes on Wednesday. Well done Blue team!

National Young Mathematicians' Award

Four Year 6 pupils took part in the National Young Mathematicians' Award at the Explore Learning Centre in Crouch End. This competition has been designed to inspire children to aim high and be the very best they can be. Following the first round the top performing schools will progress to the Regional Final on Wednesday 23rd November. Fingers crossed! The children worked very well together on a challenging task.
Owls at OLM

To tie in with our science topic of 'animals including humans', we were very excited to be receiving a visit from some very special guests. On Tuesday 1st November, the Night Owls team came to OLM. They are a Bird of Prey demonstration team and held a talk, and flying display session, for the children to take part in.
Art Day

On Monday 17th October we had a fantastic day at OLM bringing our Art in Nature learning to life. Children enjoyed visits to Coldfall Woods and The Methodist Gardens over the past few weeks and they used all their research to create wonderful pictures, collages and more on Monday.
Hari Bear!

Today we welcomed a very special visitor to OLM - Hari Bear.
Hari Bear has been travelling to primary schools across Haringey for the past 3 weeks and OLM was the final stop on his journey. Children from Tetherdown Primary School walked from their school to OLM and handed Hari Bear over to our children. Hari Bear has been promoting walking to school and reminding children about the benefits of walking and cycling to school. We brought our favourite teddy bears to school today so that Hari had some friends while visiting OLM!
Ten Ten Theatre

We were very pleased to welcome back Ten Ten Theatre to our school on Wednesday 19th October. The day began with an assembly for children and parents which explored themes within the Year of Mercy. Throughout the day children attended short plays which further explored these themes and provided opportunities for children to think about showing mercy each other.
